The Pink Underwing Moth Skull Larva

There’s something pretty distinct about the Pink Underwing Moth larva… it looks like the Angel of Death and I’m pretty sure it appears in the mirror if you say its name three times. It resides in the rainforests of Eastern Australia where its currently Endangered due to loss of habitat and haunting people’s dreams. Here it is in its evolved Pokemon form:

There aren’t a lot of fictional alien designs based off the idea of this sort of camouflage being part of their evolutionary ancestry, and that saddens me.

I literally though this was some kind of wood sculpture at first.
